Rise Development Group / SIP Construction

BuildSmarter.Live Better.

Structural Insulated Panel homes are one of the ways we build. Faster builds. Lower energy bills. Stronger walls. We use SIPs when they fit the home, its site and its budget.

What Is SIP Construction

Three Layers. One Unstoppable Panel.

A Structural Insulated Panel is framing, insulation, and sheathing all in one engineered component. Two layers of structural OSB fused to a solid foam insulation core.

Traditional stick-built homes use dozens of individual parts. SIP homes arrive at the site pre-engineered and pre-cut, ready to assemble.

The result? A tighter, stronger, quieter, more efficient home. And we use it on projects where it fits.

SIPs are one way Rise builds, not the whole story. As a full developer-builder that plans, builds, and delivers, Rise puts this same panel platform to work across its housing lines, from turnkey Rapid Deployment PODS to permanent Rise Residences. Explore Rise Housing.

Why SIP Construction

Why we use SIPs.

SIPs are one way we build. We pick the method that fits each home.

Envelope

Continuous Insulation

A solid foam core and continuous insulation keep thermal bridging to a minimum. A tight envelope is built into every SIP wall and roof.

Dry-In

Faster to Frame

Panels arrive pre-cut, pre-engineered. Framing, insulating, and sheathing happen in one step, with less cutting and scrap on site.

Strength

More Load Strength

SIP walls carry significantly more structural load than conventional framing. Factory-engineered panels perform consistently every single time.

R-23 / R-51

True R-Value: R-23 Wall · R-51 Roof

SIP panels maintain their full rated R-value in real-world conditions.

Our Process

From Panels to Move-In Ready.

01

Design & Engineering

Your floor plan is engineered for SIP construction. Every panel is precision-cut in a factory before anything ships to site.

02

Factory Fabrication

Panels are manufactured with pre-cut window openings, door openings, and electrical chases. Zero guesswork on site.

03

Delivery to Site

Your panels arrive labeled and ready. What took weeks of stick framing prep is already done before the crew shows up.

04

Shell Assembly

Walls, roof, and floor panels go up fast. The full shell can be weather-tight in days. Not weeks.

05

Finish & Deliver

Interior buildout, mechanical, finish work. Rise handles every phase. One team. No handoffs. No excuses.

SIP vs. Stick Frame

Side by Side. No Spin.

Applications

What We Build with SIPs.

Custom Homes

Single-family residential from starter to luxury. SIPs work on any floor plan and any climate. From Utah's mountain elevations to Florida coastal builds.

Barndominiums & ADUs

The combination of SIPs and post-frame structure is a perfect match for barndominiums and detached ADUs. Fast shell. High performance. Lower utility costs.

Multifamily & Mixed-Use

Townhomes, duplexes, small apartment buildings. SIPs reduce labor costs and speed up dry-in, which matters when you're building multiple units at once.

Remote & Rural Builds

Panels ship to site pre-cut. Less skilled labor required on location. Ideal for rural builds, hunting cabins, Alaska communities, and off-grid properties.

Net-Zero Ready Homes

SIP envelopes are the foundation of net-zero and Passive House design. The tight, high-R shell means smaller HVAC, smaller solar arrays, and a smaller monthly bill.

Workforce Housing

Speed and cost certainty make SIPs attractive for workforce and attainable housing projects.

Common Questions

Real Answers. No Runaround.

Are SIP homes more expensive to build?+

The panel package costs more per square foot than basic stick framing. That's true. But SIPs combine framing, insulation, and sheathing into one step. You're not paying three separate subcontractors. You're not dealing with weeks of scheduling. And you're not paying for the energy waste that follows a stick-built home for 30 years. When you run the full math, including labor, time, and energy savings, SIP homes compete on total cost of ownership every time.

Is SIP construction faster?+

SIPs are one way we build. We pick the method that fits each home. When SIPs fit, they give a tight envelope and a faster dry-in. Panels arrive pre-cut, so framing, insulation, and sheathing go up in one step. The full build timeline still depends on your mechanical, electrical, and finish work, and your proposal sets the schedule for your project.

Can I customize the floor plan with SIPs?+

Yes. SIP homes are engineered to your specific design. The trade-off is that last-minute changes after panels are manufactured are harder than with stick framing. The key is locking in your design before fabrication starts. Rise works with you on the front end to nail the plan before panels get cut. That's where we earn our keep.

What about moisture and pests inside SIP walls?+

SIP panels use EPS foam, which is inorganic and doesn't support mold growth. Proper air sealing at panel joints and good flashing details keep moisture out. The airtight envelope also means you need mechanical ventilation, typically an HRV or ERV system, to manage humidity and fresh air. This is standard practice with high-performance building envelopes and Rise includes it in every SIP project specification.

Does Rise handle the full build or just the SIP shell?+

Rise is a full development and construction company. We manage your project from design and engineering through panel installation, mechanical, interior finish, and final delivery. You deal with one team from start to finish.
